Lights, reminiscent of the historic Grand Electric Carnival of 1895, will be on display November 25 through January 3. Downtown Sacramento will be aglow with colorful lights, twinkling trees, shooting stars, holiday banners and much more!=0D=0A=The promotion, produced by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, will connect holiday events including Old Sacramento's Theatre of Lights and Carnival at St. Rose with downtown retailers, hotels and restaurants. The decorative lighting will create a magical and memorable pedestrian experience.=0D=0A=The event will take place in lieu of the ice rink this holiday season due to conflicts in construction schedules with the K Street Streetscape project and renovation of St. Rose of Lima Park.=0D=0A=“The Carnival of Lights is designed to bring holiday cheer to kids and the young at heart,” said DSP Director of Marketing Lisa Martinez. “We are also developing a district-wide lighting program to create a festive pedestrian experience that takes a new spin on the Grand Electric Carnival, which first lit up Downtown Sacramento nearly 115 years ago.”=0D=0A=The Carnival of Lights will offer special rates for large parties and will also have event space available to host charity events, mixers, private parties, etc.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:Noon-8pm=0D=0A=Christmas Eve: Noon-6pm=0D=0A=Christmas Day: Closed
