Following on the heels of his smash success, Wild Sweet Love, Trey McIntyre returns with his joyous Second Before the Ground, set to African-inspired music recorded by the world-renowned Kronos Quartet. George Balanchine’s iconic Prodigal Son, created for the legendary Ballet Russes, reminds us why he is considered the greatest choreographer of the 20th century. Compelling drama combined with startling innovation is as riveting today as its 1929 premiere. Lila York’s fleet and fluid Celts, a tribute to her Irish heritage, is an effervescent and lively ballet set to both contemporary and classical Irish music including the traditional Irish group, The Chieftains. Appropriate for all ages.
