Add Review/Comment
The Minerva Award is California's preeminent honor for women. Since 2004 the Museum has presented an exhibit honoring the recipients, who are announced each year by First Lady Maria Shriver at the Women's Conference. This year, an expanded exhibit includes interactive videos, artifacts, and a chance to get involved.
The 2008 Minerva Awards winners are: Louise Hay, a self-help pioneer who revolutionized the idea that positive thought can improve physical well-being: Betty Chinn, a committed community provider for the homeless; Gloria Steinem, feminist activist and magazine founder; Ivelise Markovits, founder of an organization that provides homes to nearly 3,000 children; and Billie Jean King, tennis pro and advocate for social change.
