Children can try on astronaut suits and helmets and sit on a “moon rock” for their photo. Families can enjoy the electricity table with a plasma ball and Jacob’s Ladder that makes lightning.
Other scientific phenomena on display are fiber optics, magnetism and a spectroscope. Hands-on globes of the moon, Mars and Venus help in understanding their history and how they differ from the earth. Models of NASA space vehicles are on view.
Find out how difficult it is to do tasks in a glove box as you measure mass with metal samples and a scale. The Space Station Science Corner has additional science experimenets such as: fluorescent rocks, robotic arms, mass and weight, photons and polarized light. The children’s Space Station is full of age-appropriate activities for the younger set.
