TARGET CHILDREN'S BOOK CELEBRATION at FAIRYTALE TOWN

BOOKS TAKE YOU OVER THE RAINBOW! With a crowd of children's authors on hand, Fairytale Town rolls out a captivating reading adventure with its TARGET CHILDREN'S BOOK CELEBRATION.  There will be, storytelling, puppets, interactive activities and books, books, books!  The event will feature renowned children's writer Barbara Joosse, author of "I Love You the Purplest," "Mama, Do You Love Me?" and other titles. Other attending authors and illustrators include Stefanie Cruz, Ashley Wolf, Masha Shurin, J. Otto Seibold, Linda Boyden, Edna Cabcabin Moran, Marlene Uhrik, and Tekla White. A number of celebrity readers will take the stage during the celebration, including Chris Riva of KCRA Channel 3, Jeffrey Callison and Donna Apidone of Capital Public Radio, Rob Turner and Elyssa Lee of SacTown Magazine, Pallas Hupe of KOVR Channel 13, and Kristin Simoes of Sacramento Company. The event will also feature PuppetArt Theater, Sacramento Public Library's Wonder Wagon, and Scholastic Book Fair. There will even be a book swap, where children can bring a gently-used book and then choose one to take home. Hands-on literacy activities will be available for children, too. These activities will be provided by California Railroad Museum, Crocker Art Museum, Aerospace Museum of California, Towe Auto Museum, Sacramento Braille Transcribers, Magpie Books, California Museum of History, Women and the Arts, Bring Me A Book, and United Animal Nation.  Admission to the festival is free with regular park admission.
