"The Pastorela" is the traditional Mexican Christmas nativity play that tells the story of a group of shepherds visited by angels. The angels tell the shepherds about the birth of the Christ Child and ask them to take the journey to Bethlehem. As the shepherds journey to Bethlehem, all hell literally breaks loose, and chaos ensues. There's temptation and deceit, lost love and requital, mighty battles, modern dance grooves and outrageous humor as angels and devils try to convince the audience to join their ranks. Although much of the dialogue in LA PASTORELA is in Spanish the message is clear: it's all about truth, forgiveness and love.
