Feeling confined to Earth? Blast off for a 2-and-one-half hour mission to outer space! Experience the thrill of space exploration with your family, friends, scout troop, or small community group. (Crew size is limited to between 16 & 30 members.) The Challenger Learning Center offers public simulated space missions on only 7 Friday evenings per year!
Your adventure begins when you launch into space to Rendezvous with Comet Halley™, Voyage to Mars™, or Return to the Moon™. Working in the Spacecraft and Mission Control, you will perform many of the same type tasks as NASA professionals! Astronauts in the spacecraft will perform hands-on science experiments, operate robotic arms, handle navigation and communication stations,or build a probe. Mission Control Specialists will direct the astronauts’ activities, monitor conditions onboard the Spacecraft, and help to solve life-or-death emergencies. Halfway through each scenario, the Spacecraft lands and the crews exchange places.
Public missions are open to ages 9 to 109! Each 9 and 10 year old must be accompanied by an adult teammate. All crewmembers ages 17 and younger must have an adult chaperone onsite.
