A HILARIOUS COMEDY ABOUT THE QUEST FOR FAME, FORTUNE AND FABULOSITY, OPENING IN A REGIONAL PREMIERE

As Bees in Honey Drown, by Douglas Carter Beane and directed by Bob Cooner. Bees is a comedy about the quest for fame and stardom.  You'll have a great time with this clever satire, by the author of the play "The Little Dog Laughed" and the movie "To Wong Foo"

The Lambda Players production, directed by Bob Cooner, features Kristen Wagner, Matthew Abergel, Thomas Smith, Alexandra Claudio, Gregory Dorado, and Linda Lebedchik. The story centers on Evan Wyler, a hot new writer who has recently burst onto the New York literary scene. He falls head over heels for Alexa Vere de Vere: a glamorous, jet setting, mystery-cloaked woman at the top of the media biz and the celebrity A-list. But who is Alexa Vere de Vere really and what is her game? This thought provoking assessment of our image-over-substance society cuts to the quick as well as entertains.

      Review: This was a terrific show and at $13 an especially good entertainment value. I saw the orginal cast of this show in New York and this is just as good. The acttress who plays Alexa is... Expand

      Review: This was a terrific show and at $13 an especially good entertainment value. I saw the orginal cast of this show in New York and this is just as good. The acttress who plays Alexa is incredible. I don't know how she gets all of those words out so quickly. And what great outfits. The actor who plays Evan, the starry-eyed author, is also wonderful with just the right amount of naïvete and ambition, and he is easy on the eyes when he disrobes to his skivvies. The supporting cast with all of their accents and costume changes are extremely versatile and convincing in their many and varied roles. GO SEE THIS PLAY. IT IS GREAT FUN! Collapse
