Filmmakers from all over the galaxy will soon descend on the state’s capital for the one and only Sacramento International Film Festival (SFF). Featuring a host of uncompromising documentaries, shorts and feature films, this year’s Sacramento Film Festival ™ boasts our region’s greatest showcase of cinema art.

In addition to a film line-up audiences won’t see anywhere else, this year, SFF promises to go “where no film festival has gone before” with a fascinating tribute to Star Trek in celebration of the upcoming JJ Abrams film. SFF 2009 will attract the best filmmakers, today's hottest stars and thousands of film enthusiasts from around the galaxy. Don’t be left out of the loop!

On March 22nd, join Access Sacramento, the Sacramento Media Group and SFF at The Crest Theater for the premiere of Broadcast Blues, Sue Wilson’s gripping account of the dangerous state of broadcast media today. This 2pm screening will feature interviews with many industry celebrities and a fascinating Q and A with the filmmaker.

On March 28th the festival moves to the Artisan theater (1901 Del Paso blvd) with several films including The Prince of Broadway which won the grand jury prize at the Los Angeles Film Festival. This touching film centers on a West African street hustler named Lucky, whose world is turned upside down when a baby is thrust into his arms as his son. Written and directed by Sean Baker (Greg The Bunny, Take Out) Prince of Broadway is hailed by The Hollywood Reporter as “The Genuine Article”.

On March 29th we enjoy a day of California Historical Documentaries at the California Railroad Museum (125 "I" Street). On March 30th we move to the 24th street theater where we remain to enjoy amazing films like Water Flowing Together on ballet great Jock Soto and American Idealist, an amazing documentary on the life of Sargent Shriver, founder of the Peace Corps and father to California First Lady, Maria Shriver.
