Almost twenty years ago, collectors of rare and classic automobiles organized the Shriners Hospital Concours d’Elegance to attract some of the finest vehicles in the world to Sacramento for a competitive show. In addition to fine automobiles from the earliest days of the industry through classics from the early 1980’s, the Shriners Hospital Concours d’Elegance also showcases vintage boats, travel trailers, motorcycles and bicycles in special displays.
Sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America and a sister show of the famed Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach, the Shriners Hospital Concours d’Elegance offers collectors a unique additional benefit for participation: all proceeds from the juried competition are donated to the hospital for healthcare and research programs that save the lives of children suffering from burns, spinal cord injuries and orthopedic conditions. Over the years, the Shriners Hospital Concours d’Elegance has generated more than one million dollars which has helped the hospital treat 37,000 children.
