Be a part of the best new event in The City of Trees - CAMBER (California Automobile Museum's Big Event on the Road).
The event will start with a car show set in the most exciting part of Sacramento: Midtown. 250 Cars will be on display from 2pm - 5pm between 17th and 19th on both sides of J Street.
Thousands of spectators will be there prompted by mass media advertising to look at the cars and stroll through the interesting shops.
Around 5pm, we will all take a slow, police escorted cruise the 3.5 miles to Sacramento State University (via J Street) where we will have another car show in the heavily tree'd lots 7 and 8, food service by local restaurants, merchandise vendors, an awards ceremony, a DJ and a great live band, Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers.
The annual cruise will be a fundraiser for the Museum to help further our mission to educate and entertain while preserving and promoting the automobile and its influence on our lives. We anticipate that this event will grow to the stature of Hot August Nights in Reno, NV with thousands of participants (5,500 vehicles) and over 800,000 spectators.
This event coincides with the “Reno Swap Meet” now held annually at Arco Arena and attracting over 22,000 visitors in 2008. This year, the Swap Meet is scheduled for Sunday, August 2.
We anticipate upwards of 2000 spectators for this first year, compounding exponentially in future years as the Car Cruise becomes one of Sacramento’s Signature Events.
