    The street festival, similar in style to the booming Second Saturday art walk atmosphere that exists in mid-town Sacramento, will serve to highlight the unique characteristics of Oak Park’s multiculturalism through art exhibits, public art site installations, food, live music and performances, and slide shows of Oak Park’s rich history.

    Fiesta Night will feature a variety of special events:

    * Opening Ceremony, including breaking a piñata in commemoration of Cinco de Mayo at 5pm;

    * Stage outside of Starbucks at 35th Street and Broadway, featuring live music and performances all evening;

    * Temporary kinetic public art installation by artist Bryan Tedrick, featuring work exhibited annually at the Burning Man Festival;

    * Low-riders, courtesy of Family First Car Club, on view along 3rd Street in front of the 40 Acres Art Gallery;

    * Women’s Wisdom Program art exhibit with food, live music and dance; and hands-on community tile project at Sacramento Food Bank& Family Services;

    * Best of Sac High 2009 exhibit on view at the 40 Acres Art Gallery;

    * RCAF (Royal Chicano Air Force) will present a repeating slide show of Oak Park’s history, and will have on view Native American and Chicano Art;

    * Historical tours of Immaculate Conception Church and grounds as they celebrate their 100 year anniversary; And a host of other events, venders, participating organizations and businesses keeping their doors open late in celebration of the Fiesta!
