Annual SOCA Home Tour

Presented by Sacramento Old City Association at Boulevard Park

Tour participants will be able to visit 8 houses in the Historic Boulevard Park Neighborhood of Sacramento's Midtown. Many of these homes have been restored by their owners to reflect the period of their construction. There will be a street fair in the median of 21st Street with artisans, home improvement specialists, historic research help, and live music. The Capital A's Model A Club will be showing their restored autos. This is an annual event sponsored by the Sacramento Old City Association (SOCA), Sacramento's premier historic preservation organization.

Additional information about the Home Tour, including photos of the homes and information about ticket sales, will be posted on the website. Photos of the houses on the tour can be found here (click on the thumbnail photo to see all the photos of that house)

      I personally found this year's home showings to be far less interesting than last year's homes. Last year was my first tour and the vintage homes and their pride of ownership and the remodeling and furnishings were authentic and impressive. The SOCA volunteers seemed much more upbeat last year as well. I will view the photos for next year's Old Home showings on the SOCA gallery website before making an informed decision on whether I'll attend. All in all the vintage displays were ok and the tour enjoyable. Collapse
