Nutritionist Christine Craig speaks out: "Don’t Forget the Nutrients"

With a background in diabetes and nutrition, Christine Craig, MS RD CDE, will be guest lecturing; "Don't Forget the Nutrients: Eating for your whole health on a gluten free diet." Utilizing her background in nutrition and clinical counseling she empowers patients with knowledge and skills to elicit behavior changes that lead to improved nutrition-related health outcomes.

Christine Craig will be speaking for the first half of our meeting on the topic of the difficulty of maintaining basic nutrition while making sure to avoid having gluten in your diet. Her lecture will cover choosing the right foods to balance your nutritional needs. In addition, she will be discussing the potential for nutrient deficiencies and how to prevent them, calorie and weight management (gain and loss); and ensuring a nutritious diet. After the lecture the group will continue its discussion.

Experienced celiacs are welcome to bring snacks to share. Please bring a copy of your recipe for those with multiple allergies.
