Gene Krupa Orchestra & The Four Freshmen
April 8, 2010
Add Review/Comment
If you remember Gene Krupa pounding out ‘Sing Sing Sing’ on the drums you won’t want to miss an evening with the Gene Krupa Orchestra. Conductor Michael Berkowitz first heard his idol, Krupa perform in 1964, and Krupa was kind enough to spend a few minutes with the aspiring drummer. That was the moment that Berkowitz knew he was going to be a professional drummer. After a varied career, Berkowitz became conductor of the Gene Krupa Orchestra, bringing the Krupa magic back to life for a whole new generation.
Joining the orchestra will be The Four Freshmen. The vocal jazz ensemble has played nearly every college campus in the United States, performing in all 50 states and also in 44 countries. This should be an entertaining evening for all.
