Oakerson's story-based brand of stand-up won him the Salem Orb-E Future Faces Competition (the comedy portion, that is), and he was given the chance to perform at New York City's noted comedy club "Carolines on Broadway." From there, the 31-year-old Queens resident has made comedy his full-time job, flooring audiences with anecdotal bits about ultra-macho frat boys or being too fat for Karate. A
side from regular stand-up gigs, Oakerson is currently a writing consultant and star on the IFC show Z-Rock where he plays "Neil", the sexually questionable owner of a NYC rock club. Jay has also co-hosted of Spike TV's "Movies on Tap." This comes after a recent spot on Dave Attell's "Insomniac Tour" and working as a writer for "Chappelle's Show." Keep an eye out for Jay Oakersons half-hour special on Comedy Central.
