The following is a list of the main Hmong cultural show/entertainments and activities throughout the New Year celebration event, which will be held on 2 separate stages:

- Special guest artists and entertainers
- Multi-cultural shows
- Multiple Hmong cultural activities and shows
- Special guest performers in Hmong cultural flutes and musical instruments, such as "qeej, tsaaj, xim xaus, etc."
- Various exciting cultural competitions, such as California Hmong Beauty Pageant, group dance, qeej, lug txaj, Hmong Idol, and swb pob (ball tossing).
- Various cultural group dance performances
- Sacramento region Hmong musicians, artists, as well as others

Beauty Pageant: Miss Hmong California Pageant has been held annually at the Sacramento Hmong New Year celebration for the last three years. Miss Hmong California will be crowned on the last day of the event. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.

    ...why are we paying them (security) and what for so they can ride around in their bicycles or/and just walk around? they are there to prevent...fights from those wanna be low life who seem to want to ruin it for the rest of us. two fights happened in front of me and my family in less than one hour when we entered through those gates and before that four, five security rode their bikes past us. the next thing i know they were jumbled up in one area doing nothing. they were just standing next to their bikes like it was nothing. the hmong committee that sponsor this event has to do something about security. im not paying to get someone get hurt, i paying to have fun and the most out of it.     There are fights at the Hmong New Year every year, however it is not that bad as it sounds. I've been going for the last 5-6 years now, you just have to cautious and not get yourself involve. By the way, fights can happen anywhere. If those gangsters want to fight, securities should let them. that way they can kill each other and leave the world with less gangsters. So the next time, anyone wants to go. Be cautious and have fun. :) Collapse

    I have never in my life had such a horrible experience at Sacramento Hmong New. They allow 60 plus gang members in and did not have the security to protect the vendors and the Hmong Community. The... Expand
    
    I have never in my life had such a horrible experience at Sacramento Hmong New. They allow 60 plus gang members in and did not have the security to protect the vendors and the Hmong Community. The Expo Police workers did nothing as those gang members stole others vendors items and sodas to throw it at other vendors. This happen not once, not twice, but four times. The Sacramento New Year Officers, Board Members, and Advisors FAILED! The Sacramento Expo Police FAILED! The Sacramento Police FAILED! They didn't allow you to bring sodas in after this happen, so why did they allow the food vendors to sale sodas? That goes the same with umbrella. How pathetic is that? This whole Hmong New Year Organization was disappointing. Collapse
