17th Annual D.I.V.A. Conference

The Sacramento Affiliate of the National Black Child Development Institute (BCDI) will host its 17th Annual D.I.V.A. (Determined Intelligent Valued African American Young Ladies) Conference entitled, "It’s Time For Change."

The conference is geared towards empowerment for young ladies ages 12 to 18 years old with the tools to live productive lives. The conference will provide information to assist participants with making sound, positive decisions relating to relationships, sex, health and wellness, education and employment.

Friday night’s special speaker will be Ms. Ginger Rutland, featuring her mother, Eva Rutland, author of "When We Were Colored". There will be raffles, food, fun and fellowship. Our daughters are precious, our friends are valued and this conference is an opportunity to celebrate that gift.

The Sacramento Affiliate of the National Black Child Development Institute, a non-profit organization, supports programs and resources for African-American children, their parents, and the community in the areas of health, early care education, child welfare, parenting and elementary and secondary education.
