An opportunity to sample from the region’s best wineries and restaurants for one incredible price!
The Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is pleased to announce the return of the 8th annual Grape Escape – A Capital Region Wine and Food Celebration - Presented by Raley's & Bel Air. The event brings the most delicious products from eight counties together at one all-inclusive event to celebrate the region's award winning wine country and highly-touted local cuisine. Featuring more than 100 local wineries and restaurants including wine and food tastings, a chef’s cooking competition, and live music and art displays.
Named by Restaurant News as the city whose "Restaurants Sizzle," Sacramento has evolved into a vibrant dining Mecca. Time magazine has also named Sacramento the most diverse city in America, which is reflected in the many flavors found in restaurants throughout the region.
To showcase these sizzling restaurants, chefs from the capital region will tempt taste buds and tickle palates as they display their talents with savory spices and a set timer. Take one market basket filled with the freshest ingredients; add a gourmet chef, time for 25 minutes and voila, a recipe for the Chef’s Challenge.
Last year’s competition was fierce as four teams battled it out with spatulas, spoons and whisks! Oh, my! Each team, consisting of a chef and an assistant, was given 25 minutes to produce and serve up a dish featuring fresh produce and a choice cut of meat. Teams competed in two rounds, and winners advanced to the finals to prepare and serve another creative and mouth-watering dish in minutes.
Don't miss this year's flavorful competition!
