Sacramento Hmong New Year

at Cal Expo

The following is a list of the main Hmong cultural show/entertainments and activities throughout the New Year celebration event, which will be held on 2 separate stages:

-Special guest artists and entertainers
-Multi-cultural shows
-Multiple Hmong cultural activities and shows
-Special guest performers in Hmong cultural flutes and musical instruments, such as "qeej, tsaaj, xim xaus, etc."
-Various exciting cultural competitions, such as California Hmong Beauty Pageant, group dance, qeej, lug txaj, Hmong Idol, and swb pob (ball tossing).
-Various cultural group dance performances
-Sacramento region Hmong musicians, artists, as well as others 

Beauty Pageant: Miss Hmong California Pageant has been held annually at the Sacramento Hmong New Year celebration for the last three years. Miss Hmong California will be crowned on the last day of the event. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.
