Make a Brick or Bust! Arneson Clay Workshop

Robert Arneson was known for his unique self-portraits that pushed the boundaries of self-representation. Two familiar forms used by the ceramicist were the common brick and the bust. Coinciding with the Robert Arneson tribute exhibit on display in the Tsao Gallery in January 2010, this one-day workshop will allow students to experiment with working in Arneson’s style. Each student can choose a wet mold of a brick or a small bust that can be added to, scratched, and personalized to create a unique self-portrait. DAC instructor George Grant was a studio assistant to Robert Arneson.

Tickets: $30 for DAC members, $40 for non-members. (Class fee includes a materials/firing fee of $5. Fired pieces will be ready for pick up the following week.)
