Ease on Down and experience the "Super Soul" version of L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz! The Wiz is one of Broadway's most popular contemporary musicals. This super soul version is a multi-cultural journey that follows this well-known and beloved story of courage, brains, heart, and home.

The Wiz originally opened on Broadway in January of 1975 and ran through January 1979. It won seven Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score. The movie of The Wiz starred Diana Ross and featured Michael Jackson.

Dorothy, the little girl from Kansas is blown by a tornado into Munchkinland in the Land Of Oz. While there she meets the Scarecrow, the Tinman, and the Cowardly Lion on the Yellow Brick Road. She defeats the evil witch and goes to see the powerful Wizard who turns out to be a phoney. However, he is able to convince Dorothy that she can do anything she wants if she just believes in herself. Dorothy also realizes the importance of home and her family.

The show will be performed to a live orchestra on the Broadway Stage. Recommended for theatregoers 6 and over.

      Watched The Wiz last Sunday and had a great time! Can't say enough about the amazing cast of singers, dancers, back-up singers and the ORCHESTRA! The costumes were impressive and creative. Very solid... Expand
