    Arts Integration Speed Dating: Get Comfortable with the Key Arts Teaching Methodologies: Master teaching artists/presenters from the Bay Area Teaching Artists Organized (TAO)

    This day-long workshop introduces key concepts and vocabulary from a range of arts pedagogies. Short and sweet workshops will orient you to the most effective and popular teaching frameworks used by teaching artists today including the Lincoln Center Institute for Arts in Education, Kennedy Center’s ArtsEdge program, Reggio Emilia, Visual Thinking Strategies, Studio Habits of Mind and kinesthetic movement pedagogies of learning. Meet the one that’s a good match for you and get the job you want…

    TAWS is a free series of distinct workshops on a variety of topics of interest to artists who also want to teach and build careers as teaching artists. The series is developed and presented by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission’s Education staff with regional and national presenters from the visual and performing arts and education fields.

    Although there is no fee for the workshops, you must be a working artist who either lives or works in Sacramento County to participate. The workshops run from January through May. Register NOW! For a complete list of workshops and registration procedures please log onto the website.
