Marcia Daft, Kennedy Center Teaching Artist/Presenter
Marcia Daft will work with several small ensemble groups on pieces from their current school assembly, family concert or lecture/demonstration programs to help develop more exciting, engaging and interactive presentations. What are the elements of an effective presentation for novice audiences? This workshop will use an informal master class format to involve all participants in deconstructing the music to look for the interactive teachable elements for these settings. Teaching artists in other disciplines are welcome too.
TAWS is a free series of distinct workshops on a variety of topics of interest to artists who also want to teach and build careers as teaching artists. The series is developed and presented by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission’s Education staff with regional and national presenters from the visual and performing arts and education fields.
Although there is no fee for the workshops, you must be a working artist who either lives or works in Sacramento County to participate. The workshops run from January through May. Register NOW! For a complete list of workshops and registration procedures please log onto the website.
