JAYJAY is proud to present Roger Berry, renowned Sacramento sculptor and gallery favorite showing with well regarded San Francisco painter Jeffrey Long, in his debut exhibit in Sacramento. Here, JAYJAY, pairs two of the great California modernists together in a complimentary exhibit.
As a monumental sculptor, Roger Berry continues to design and fabricate significant works for corporate and private collectors across the country. Recent commissions include: California Automobile Association, Walnut Creek, CA; Quadra Building, Victoria, BC; Traffic Circle at Bond Street, Bend, OR; Oberlin College Science Center, Oberlin, OH; as well as several private residential commissions. This new body of work includes several “gallery” size pieces which are movement inspired with a figurative reference, and are proof of Berry’s delight in his chosen materials.
This Sacramento premier exhibit of San Francisco painter Jeffrey Long gives this respected artist an opportunity to share his virtuoso abilities with collectors in Northern California. Long received his BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and his MFA from California College of Art. His paint manipulations are magnificent, blending an affinity for color with great abstract compositions that reflect his strong association with modern art movements. His exhibition and collections list is extensive with highlights being: Oakland Museum of California; Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art; The Gap Headquarters, San Francisco, CA; Richmond Art Center and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Long is in numerous collections including San Francisco MOMA, Oakland Museum, Crocker Museum, Mills College, Stanford University, to name just a few.
