Living History: Plans & Dreams- Sutter’s empire
April 3, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Sutter dreamed of an empire and he had found his promised land. Ranching, milling, farming, fur trading and shipping were all part of his vast empire. And for a while he was successful – vaqueros raised his cattle, Native Americans worked on his farms and ships transported his goods, all planned and run from his headquarters that bustled with people helping him build his dream. Step into his world – and see it as he was creating it, before the dream collapses in the later rush for gold.
