La Raza Galería Posada will delve into the roots of California’s Latin Rock movement with a lively new art exhibition, Music Revolution!: An Exhibition of Musical Memorabilia from the Golden Age of Latin Rock. Culled from the private collection of Dr. Bernardo D. Gonzalez III, longtime manager of Latin rock legend, Malo, this exhibition will feature rare photos, collectible posters, platinum and gold records and recorded music.
A collector’s talk with Dr. Gonzalez is set with David Barton (Editor-in-Chief of The Sacramento Press, regular guest host of KXJZ’s “Insight” morning talk show, the Wednesday entertainment editor with Kitty O’Neal on KFBK, and 25+ year as Pop Music Critic for the Sacramento Bee) as guest host.
The exhibition will precede the May 22 “Jammin’ in the Park” Festival, a family day of Latino celebration with music, dance, poetry, arts & crafts, and community awareness. Headliner for the noon-6pm event at Sacramento’s Cesar Chavez Park (10th & J Sts.) is the 12-piece Latin Rock legend, Malo starring guitarist Jorge Santana.
