Mylar has been performing as an independent musical artist since the 1970s. Classically trained from the age of 7 in many instruments and vocals, Mylar is primarily known throughout the world as the “Original Folk Wave Artist.” Schooled in many genres, Mylar can play and sing it all. Mylar has performed with many famous artists and bands, including Blues legends Mike Bloomfield, Alice Stuart, and Norton Buffalo, Jerry Garcia Band members, Melvin Seals, Joe Craven, and Stu Allen, Barry “The Fish” Melton, The David Nelson Band, Vince Herman and many more. Mylar’s eclectic songwriting style has been imitated by many of today’s younger Folk, Rock, and Americana artists. In the recording studio Mylar has produced rising stars such as, Amy Anne and
Jackie Greene.

Mylar performs primarily in the Northern California area, but also plays to audiences around the world, including Europe, New York City, and Washington, DC. at venues from local cafés to festivals and can be seen sitting in as a guest artist with many popular bands. Mylar formed the William Mylar Band with some of the best musicians in the Sacramento, CA area in order to provide audiences with quality music for fun and dancing. The group is made up of musicians from such bands as Stoneground, the Beer Dawgs Mind X, and the Vivian Lee Quintet.
