THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED (AS OF 3/21/11) DUE TO LACK OF TICKET SALES.

California Lectures subscribers have been offered four options to make up for the cancellation: They can receive a tax-deductible letter for the value of their tickets; exchange tickets for additional tickets to the Terry McMillan lecture on March 24 or to the Thomas McGuane lecture April 3; exchange tickets for the May 24 special-event lecture by Roy Blount, Jr.; or exchange tickets for half-price tickets to A Grand Night for Singing at the Cosmopolitan Cabaret, running through May 8. No deadline has been given for ticket exchanges.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author and illustrator Art Spiegelman will give provide a special multi-media presentation entitled "What the %@&*! Happened to Comics?" Pre-signed books will be available for purchase at the event. The evening also includes a Lecture Preview: a biographical overview about the author presented by a professor from Sacramento State University.
