Race for the Arts, one of Sacramento's popular traditions, has moved from its longtime Friday-night start to Saturday morning, August 28.

The walk-run will remain at William Land Park, Sacramento's scenic treasure. Anyone who enjoys theatre, dance, music, and art - and exercise, won't want to miss this annual celebration of the arts and the outdoors.

By participating, you can make a difference to your favorite California nonprofit visual, performing, cultural arts organizations, and/or school music, drama and art programs. In this economic climate, they all need your help and here's a fun way to contribute by raising funds.

Get a head start in the race - now is the time to start collecting your pledges. Suggestions: family, friends, challenges, web sites, teams. One hundred percent of pledges benefit your designated organization/school.

Galena Street East, a nonprofit performing arts organization, proved it can work by raising $27,000 in 2007.

Register Online or Pick Up An Entry Form At One of Several Locations: download a flyer, entry form, and pledge forms. Beginning July 4, entry forms will be available at Raley's, Bel Air and Hobrecht Lighting Design & Decor locations.

NEW THIS YEAR - TEAMS OF 10 OR MORE WILL RECEIVE A 20 PERCENT DISCOUNT.
