As part of a special Demonstration Day at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, find out how California’s early emigrants -- tired and exhausted from their long journey -- were welcomed at the Fort by John Sutter, known for his generous hospitality. Also, experience how early settlers had to quickly learn how to adjust to the so-called “Promised Land,” learn new ways to plant crops, work the land and what they needed to survive in a new climate.
