Shannon Curtis--the long version…"When I was 5, I danced and sang along to my dad playing 40s-era standards on our family’s baby grand. When I was 7, my classical piano teacher told me I played like a boy. When I was 9, I sang into my hairbrush pretending to be Amy Grant. Just out of college, I shirked my pre-med Biology degree and made an earnest effort as the lead singer in a guitar-based rock band. Three years ago I found my piano again, started writing love songs, and quit the band. Since then it’s been like walking around in an old, comfortable pair of shoes – playing the piano and singing songs about love."
