Whiskey and Stitches

Whiskey and Stitches delivers kick-ass, toe-tappin' fun, with a (mostly) Irish flair. Featuring Pete Barker - bass/vocals, Mike McCarrick - guitar/vocals, Jay Raney - drums/vocals, James Wilson - mandolin/whistle/banjo/accordion/etc
The Stone Ghosts put on a passionate performance that channels the roots of true rock and blues music. The energy with which they play is contagious and gives the audience a more intimate experience. With songs that are easily accessible yet hardly cookie-cutter, this band will surely have crowds bobbing their heads and tapping their feet.
If a Peterbilt 18-wheeler hauling Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s drums and guitars crashed into a Toyota Prius carrying the remains of the Minutemen’s D. Boon and some of the Dandy Warhols’ backstage furniture, what would be splashed out onto the highway is the Jet Black Popes. Their introspective, rough-around-the-edges song style is tempered with an on-stage satirical face, creating an underground yet accessible vibe. Self-described as the “non-thinking man’s Radiohead,” the band features vocalist/guitarist Kevin Johnson, bassist/vocalist Bryce Penney, guitarist/vocalist Tony Asbestos and drummer Carlos Damian. Originally formed as Whiskey Gentlemen in early 2008, the band has played at Old Ironsides, Luigi’s Fungarden, and the 2009 Chalk It Up festival at Fremont Park.
