Mary Kercher, a bright spot on the Sacramento art horizon, presents new works in figure & abstract paintings and sculpture. Ms. Kercher pulls from a rich heritage of living in Italy where she gained a deep respect for the masters and classical figure as well as a solid foundation studying with Sacramento’s most renown art instructors. This show represents Ms. Kercher’s first solo exhibit following 5 years of Awards of Merit in the California State Fair Fine Art competition.
About Mary Kercher
I am drawn to abstraction. Shapes and colors in relation to one another excite me. When I paint there is something deep and innate that I am responding to. My work flows best when I have no preconceived idea of what the outcome will be. At the same time my focus is required to be “spot on” and all the while keeping the work moving, malleable and morphing. The paint becomes the skin of my emotional state.
About MAIYA Gallery
MAIYA is simply an acronym for "my art is your art" as we attempt to tap into that welcoming "mi casa es su casa" spirit. We want to provide an environment that is inviting to both the individual who has never purchased art before and the avid art collector by showcasing a variety of work from emerging and established artists.
