The Mollymawks, The Chick P's

In 2004, four wacky and unassuming women thought a fun way to spend Sunday evenings was to eat dinner together and jam a bit. As time progressed, friendships formed and original music followed. They termed themselves 'The Mollymawks' and began playing Sacramento venues including Fox & Goose, It's a Grind, Club 21 and the Sacramento Brewing Company. As their friend Randi says, "Watching the Mollymawks perform is like tipping a beer with four warm friends and having an intimate conversation about love and life."
The Chick P's are a tight group of friends and now a tight rock'n' band that bring their inimitable vocal style, humor, and special brand of rock, pop, folk, and blues to the stage. The Chick P’s are inspired by a very eclectic group of artists and bands such as Sam Cook, Johnny Cash, Incubus, Brandie Carlile, Heart and Led Zeppelin. Their original tunes take blues styles like Susan Tedeschi; vintage sounds like Clapton and Cash and combine them with the lyrical poetry of songwriters like Patty Griffin. Because the Chick P’s are so in love with their influences, they also enjoy playing cover tunes by those artists and as it turns out, the crowds love it too.
