The Sacramento Master Singers, under the direction of Dr. Ralph Hughes, will open their 2010-11 Season with four performances of the choir’s annual holiday concert in December. This year’s concert is entitled Peace, Peace.
This concert marks director Ralph Hughes’ 25th season conducting the Sacramento Master Singers. During his tenure the group has developed a signature Christmas program full of special traditions: a quiet and reflective candlelight processional, sparkling Renaissance and antiphonal motets surrounding the audience, and favorite carols sung in traditional–and sometimes unique--arrangements. As in years past, this program includes both exciting new pieces and traditional heartwarming favorites that the audience members have told Dr. Hughes that they love.
The Dec 18 performance will be signed for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The Sacramento Master Singers will also present Jingle All The Way!, their annual children’s holiday concert on December 18 at 2:00 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (26th and K Streets). As usual, a delegation from the North Pole will assist the Master Singers in presenting this shorter, family-oriented program design especially for children. Tickets for Jingle All The Way! are $5 for adults, $3 for children.
