Day of Percussion

The Percussion Studies Program at Sacramento State will host this year’s “Northern California Day of Percussion." Beginning in the morning and continuing throughout the day, a spectrum of noteworthy guest percussionists will be presenting demonstrations and performances in their area of expertise and attendees will be invited to participate in a variety of hands-on workshops.

Guest artists will include the legendary orchestral percussionist Anthony Cirone, the world-fusion group Hands On’semble, and marching percussion specialist Kevin Murray. Also appearing in the spotlight will be the CSU Fresno Percussion Ensemble, Percussion Group Davis, and the Sacramento State Percussion Group. Local talent will be featured in performances by student-artist soloists, and the day’s events will culminate in an evening concert featuring a performance by the Hands On’semble.

A selection of percussion instruments, sticks, mallets and music will be available for display and sale, and there will be a raffle of door prizes.
