Add Review/Comment
Sacramento Metro Arts Commission (SMAC), Art in Public Places Program (APP) is offering its annual winter Tour Guide Training Program beginning January 2011. The program is for art historians, artists, educators, and/or community members who are interested in public art and volunteering to lead public art tours throughout the Sacramento area.
The program begins with an information session at the SMAC offices. Learn about issues and ideas in public art, the history of public art, Sacramento’s vast art collection, and the art of leading tours in a 6 week training session beginning February 3.
Upon completion, new tour leaders receive tour assignments. The estimated time commitment for these tours is about 5 hours a month. Tour leaders must be available during some weekday hours when most tours are conducted.
