Bob Woods Band kick off the show, playing blues, Americana, and rockabilly. Woods started playing music in 1971 with the Sacramento Western Swing band Tokpela. His band, the Bob Woods Trio, has played most every watering hole in Nevada City, while the new Bob Woods Band is carving out a niche for themselves in the Sacramento flatlands.
Woods has released four original CDs: The Night We Stole The Last Steam Engine, Don't Forget The Trains, Almost Live, and Railroad Money, as well as Hillbilly Cadillac (vinyl). His fifth CD will be released this Spring 2011!

Rooted in Philadelphia and transplanted to the West, Kate Gaffney makes her musical home in Northern California. With velvety rich vocals and fresh and honest lyrics, Gaffney blends a sound steeped in classic roots rock with a dash of folk sweetness. Since abandoning her career as a social worker, Gaffney discovered her towering voice and has been performing with some of the finest musicians the West Coast has to offer, including members of The Waybacks and ALO.
Her latest studio album, The Coachman, is a melding of both coasts, featuring contributions from musicians including Greg Leisz, Steve Kimock, and Jackie Greene. With festival nods like High Sierra Music Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass & Las Tortugas, 2010 is rounding out to be a extra exciting year for Kate & friends.
