Sacramento Film & Music Festival WinterFest

The Sacramento Film & Music Festival is debuting a WinterFest during January in complement to their SummerFest in August. The Festival is back at the Crest Theatre with 31 carefully selected films from around the USA and eight other countries. The film content covers everything from preserving the arts (Painting Bolinas, "My Brother Mike"), to the fate of two naïve Mormon missionaries (in the student short "Mercy, Grace and Crabmeat"), to people who have killed themselves rather than give in to rogue IRS agents (Death or Taxes--a Sacramento-based feature documentary).

The program is as follows:
Sat, Jan 15:
-1:30pm Student Program: "The Forgery;" "Eres Tu;" "Mercy, Grace and Crabmeat;" "Cankered and Cursed" (anim); "She’s a Fox;" "Melting the Snowman;" "Wonders of Nature: Our National Forests, Yosemite Part 4 of 12" (anim); "Dreamscapes"
-3:30pm Painting Bolinas
-5:30pm Domestic Shorts: "Bright;" "Quarters;" "Yitzy;" "Caged Dreams"
-7:30pm Live music & the bar opens
-8pm Boy Wonder with "Judas: The Shimmies"

-1:30pm Death or Taxes
-3:30pm Documentary Shorts: "My Brother Mike;" "Seeds of Hope"
-5:30pm World Shorts: "The Bedroom Philosopher: Northcote;" "(So Hungover)" - Australia; "Chubby Can Kill" - Hong Kong; "Heal" – Pakistan/US; "Ashes" - United Kingdom; "Siren" - Hungary; "Vento" - Brazil
-7:30pm Live music & the bar opens
