The Family Bandits (7:30pm): Currently self-recording and producing a fully acoustic album, shying away from loud and distorted instruments and avoiding the electronic keyboards so important to many neo-folk artists, The Family Bandits (Jalal Haddad, Kayla Scott, and Sebastian Gallarzo) want the simplicity of their music, and the meaningful, often satirical lyrics of their songs to be what the listener remembers. To avoid being taken too seriously, Jalal will often clarify of his group: "Love is for suckers, we only want to be liked."
The Stone Ghosts (9pm): Duo Evan Boylan and Dante Frattini put on a passionate performance that channels the roots of true rock and blues music. The energy with which they play is contagious and gives the audience a more intimate experience. With songs that are easily accessible yet hardly cookie-cutter, this band will surely have crowds bobbing their heads and tapping their feet.
Smirker (10:30pm-Midnight): The founding members of Smirker (Scott Rogers, Jared Casstevens, and Nic Black) have been playing music together for five years, during which they have developed a unique sound that combines elements of blues, psychedelic, and classic rock, with frequent improvisation and extended jam sessions. They have an extensive repertoire of originals and cover songs, and are constantly learning and writing new material. Recently, the talented and sexy Jay Swanigan of the Dirt Nap Band joined as the group's bass player, which has helped to further enhance and fill out the group's overall sound.
