The Family Bandits

The Family Bandits play what is self-described as faux folk. Simply structured songs layered with minimal instrumental accompaniment and rich vocal harmony give The Family Bandits a unique sound in a saturated musical genre. Founded by their guitarist/singer Jalal Haddad and harmony master Kayla Scott, both from the small town of Auburn, California, Jalal met the Mexican born accordion/violin/mandolin-playing Sebastian Gallarzo in a music class at a Sacramento City College. It was during that winter month in 2009 that The Family Bandits were officially born.
Currently, The Family Bandits are self-recording and producing a fully acoustic album. Shying away from loud and distorted instruments, and avoiding the electronic keyboards so important to many neo-folk artists, The Family Bandits want the simplicity of their music, and the meaningful, often satirical lyrics of their songs to be what the listener remembers.
