The Discovery Museum Science & Space Center celebrates our 60th Anniversary with a year-long retrospective of science milestones of the last six decades. In June, we celebrate great science of the 1970s.
The Lunar Roving Vehicle made its first appearance on the Moon in 1971. It was a battery-powered four-wheeled rover used during the last three missions of the American Apollo program. Each visiting family is challenged to build a “moon buggy” of their own this weekend, using supplies furnished by the Museum.
Planetarium shows, highlighting the Moon, are at 1pm and 3pm are included with admission (ages 4 and above only); live animal shows at Noon and 2pm are for all ages.
