TomatoFest features local restaurant chefs competing with their best salsa, bruschetta, and tomato soup (hot or cold). Samples available. Enjoy tomato truffles, tomato gelato, etc. Plus, enjoy wine-tasting, live music, art, demonstrations by Master Gardeners, cooking demonstrations, a Kid's Area (sponsored by Emigh's Hardware), face-painting, performance by Sacramento Theatre Co., and more.
$500 to the winners in three categories: largest, smallest, and ugliest tomato. Contestants can download an entry form online, or register their tomatoes in person by 9:30am.
Proceeds from T-shirt sales go to Winter Sanctuary Program.
