Back in the day, Sacramento was blessed with a burgeoning punk and alternative rock community; some even dared to call it "new wave." Awesome bands were born out of this soup and they dwelled in the house of Lord Beaverbrooks, a classy little place where the Red Hot Chili Peppers tore up the stage. And at Fat Fonzies, where over 500 brands of beers were guzzled and over 1000 gigs were played. This is a reunion of these bands and all their friends, family, and fans. They were arguably the kings of the local scene.

Lord Beaverbrooks & Fat Fonzies Reunion with Spanky's also includes performances by The Features, Tattooed Love Dogs, Numonix, the Antics, Rhythm School, Monty Solorio, and Alex Cosper.

    I debated going to see my local music heroes from the '80's, fearing they would all be pathetic old men, grasping to regain their youth like so many "reunion" shows seem to become. I was so wrong!... Expand
    
    I debated going to see my local music heroes from the '80's, fearing they would all be pathetic old men, grasping to regain their youth like so many "reunion" shows seem to become. I was so wrong! The night was a blast. The bands sounded great, the crowd was excited and there was love in the air! There were lots of surprises throughout but none moreso than the appearance of Rhythm School's first performance in over twenty years. Their set was full of funky, punchy, tasty tunes from their 1986 LP and they were unanimously loved by the huge crowd. All the bands sounded great but the buzz throughout the night was dominated by the way Rhythm School rolled through and tore the place up - even bringing out a sax player for the encore. No one expected it. I'm so glad I went! Collapse

I was so wrong! The night was a blast. The bands sounded great, the crowd was excited and there was love in the air!
