Add Review/Comment
The spirit of famed 18th-century British romance author Jane Austen is alive at the Sacramento Public Library. It Must Be Born(e) Some Time or Another: The Shadow Story of Emma, presented by Austen book scholar Arnie Perlstein, will discuss the possibility of a hidden parallel story within the text of Jane Austen’s Emma. Perlstein poses the question, “What if Jane Fairfax and Frank Churchill’s engagement was the lesser secret they wanted to be discovered, a foil to keep people off the trail of a more detrimental discovery?”
The fun will begin with an icebreaker of charades, then Perlstein will present his case about the story behind the story he believes exists in each of Austen's novels.
