Introduction to Creative Writing

Everyone has a story to tell. Need a little jump start to get that story down on paper? The Sacramento Public Library can help in this eight-session program. Participants will engage in writing exercises and prompts and discuss various aspects of writing craft in some well-known short stories. The goal of the class is for all participants to write a story of their own--peer and teacher feedback will be provided because revision is part of the process. At the end of the class, participants get to share what they've written in a reading that will be open to friends and family. The only thing that is needed for this program is a pen, a paper, and an open mind.
