Fueled by Scott Taylor’s artfully crafted pop songs, The Hard Way plays a mix of pop and rock with a major emphasis on melody, harmony, and the driving guitar of both Tim Dietrich, and Scott himself. Dave Hyatt (drums) and Elizabeth Yeager (bass) do much more than just hold down the low end, by singing intricate vocal harmonies and occasionally lead vocals on many of The Hard Way’s catchy tunes.

The founding members of Smirker (Scott, Jared, and Nic) have been playing music together for 5 years, during which they have developed a unique sound that combines elements of blues, psychedelic, and classic rock, with frequent improvisation and extended jam sessions. They have an extensive repertoire of cover songs and originals, and are constantly learning and writing new material.
