Stardust and the Comets
September 24-September 25, 2011
Add Review/Comment
The Discovery Museum Science & Space Center is celebrating 60 years of sensational science milestones that occurred during the decades.
In 1999, the NASA satellite Stardust lifted off for a rendezvous with the Comet Wild-2 to collect samples of the comet and return them to Earth for further analysis. The findings used from Stardust have altered the way scientists view the universe. Learn about Stardust and the comets it studied. Comet demonstrations take place in the classroom. The children’s craft activity is a comet model.
Planetarium shows at 1pm and 3pm are included with admission (ages 4 and above only); Creature Features at Noon and 2pm are for all ages.
