Richard Mayhew is a nationally recognized painter based in Aptos, California. During the 1960s, Mayhew worked as an artist and an activist. He was a founding member of Spiral, the legendary group of African-American artists including Romare Bearden, Norman Lewis, and Hale Woodruff, organized in 1963 to address issues of civil rights and racial equality through their art.
Presented in collaboration with Evolve the Gallery, which will showcase Mayhew’s most recent work.
